The Out-of-the-Ordinary Shoes That Sarah Jessica Parker Wore to Her Own Wedding

It’s no secret that we’re happy to follow in the (never unimpressively styled) footsteps of Carrie Bradshaw when it comes to all things fashion (not to mention real estate), but even Bradshaw’s iconic style can’t really compete with the gush-worthy looks served up by the actress who portrayed her on the regular. Case in point: ten years before Carrie Bradshaw made unconventional bridal heels look cool (she wore those Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Jewel Pumps, in case you’d forgotten), SJP made the same statement with the unexpected heels she wore when she married Matthew Broderick.

“I wore teal blue velvet Robert Clergeries with a rounded toe and a classic Clergerie heel from Barneys,” Parker said in an interview recently Footwear News at the launch of her shoe brand’s new bridal collaboration with Gilt. The untraditional pick hardly comes as a surprise, though, given that Parker was also the bride who wore black at her nuptials.

Robert Clergerie already had us peeping the likes of some new mules and some unconventional backless loafers, but now that the brand has Parker’s bridal seal of approval, we’re seeing even more possibilities.
