There was no shortage of reasons on Saturday to gush over Meghan Markle’s band of petite bridesmaids, from the ivory silk pocket-and-pleats dresses (which also featured short puff sleeves and silk ribbons in the back) to the sweet flower crowns designed by florist Philippa Craddock. But the cutest detail of the bridesmaids’ ensembles by far is a super minor one that you may not have noticed.
Along with their Ivory silk Radzimir dresses – like Markle’s dress, the bridesmaids’ dresses were designed by Clare Waight Keller in the Givenchy Haute Couture Atelier in Paris – each of the young bridesmaids wore a pair white leather Aquazurra Mary Jane shoes. But when you look at the shoes closely – and this is where the sweet deets come in – each pair is monogrammed with the bridesmaids’ initials, along with the date of Harry and Meghan’s nuptials. According to a statement from the palace, the shoes were “given as a gift from Markle to the young ladies as a keepsake of the special day.”
And here we were thinking nothing would be much sweeter than that moment when the prince whispered to his bride about how amazing she looked after she walked down the aisle (swoon). It. Just. Doesn’t. Stop.
